Information about us - This website is operated by Markel International Insurance Company Limited trading as covermyday ("We", "Us", "Ourselves" or any generic term or phrase).  We are registered in England and Wales under company number 966670 and have our Registered Office and main trading address at The Markel Building, 49 Leadenhall Street, London, EC3A 2EA.  Our VAT number is 245 736349.  Markel International Insurance Company Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA Registration Number 202570).

We have appointed Johnstone Insurance Brokers Ltd ("Johnstone") as our agent to provide certain services in connection with this website and our wedding insurance policy.  Please note that Johnstone only places the type of insurance policies available through our website with Markel International Insurance Company Limited and that neither we nor Johnstone act for or advise you in connection with the purchase of contracts of insurance via this website.  Johnstone Insurance Brokers Ltd is registered in England and Wales under company number 5683941 and is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA Registration Number 452604).  Their offices are at 1-7 Dunstall Street, Scunthorpe, N. Lincs DN15 6LD.

The benefits and services described in Section 10 and 11 of the policy wording are provided by DAS Legal Expenses Insurance Company Limited ("DAS").  DAS Legal Expenses Insurance Company Limited is registered in England and Wales under company number 103274 and is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA Registration Number 202106).  Their Head Office and Registered Office is at DAS House, Quay Side, Temple Back, Bristol, BS1 6NH.

Information about you - We process information about you in accordance with our Privacy Statement.  By using our website, you consent to such processing and you warrant that all data provided by you is complete and accurate.

By submitting any information about your wedding you are declaring that you are authorised to provide the information requested to obtain insurance coverage.

By purchasing Insurance you are declaring that

• To the best of your knowledge and belief, having made all appropriate enquiries, the information supplied to obtain insurance is true and complete and no material facts have been mis-stated or suppressed; and
• You undertake to inform us of any material alteration to the information provided (and of which you are aware or ought reasonably to have been aware) which occurs before any contract of insurance based on such information is purchased.

Privacy Statement: In order that we can provide you with the product or service requested, and to administer, service and maintain such product or service (including responding to any queries raised) you will provide us with information about yourself and other persons, such as members of the wedding party, some of which will be personal data as defined by the Data Protection Act 1998 or any amendment or re-enactment thereof ("Act").

This Privacy Statement and the Conditions of Use (and any other documents referred to in it) set out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us (or on our behalf by Johnstone) and DAS.  Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it.  If you do not agree to the use of your personal data set out in this Privacy Statement, please refrain from using our website.

Information we may collect from you - We may collect and process the following data about you and other persons, such as members of the wedding party, which you tell us about when applying to purchase insurance from us:

• Information that you provide by filling in forms on our website.  This includes information provided when using our website to purchase insurance or requesting further services.  We may also ask you for information when you report a problem with our website.
• If you contact us or Johnstone, we or Johnstone may keep a record of that correspondence.
• If you contact DAS, DAS may keep a record of that correspondence.

We, and other members of our corporate group, will treat such information in confidence.  Other than as described in the section headed "How we will use your data", we will not disclose any such information to third parties except where your permission has been received or where permitted or required by law or where we are required to pass such information to regulatory bodies.

We may also collect information about your computer including where available your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration and to report aggregate information to our advertisers (if any).  This is statistical data about our users' browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual.

How we will use your data - We use information held about you in the following ways:

• To carry out our obligations arising from any contracts of insurance entered into between you and us and to manage your insurance policy including underwriting and claims handling, which may include disclosing information to loss adjusters, lawyers, and other experts, to a court or tribunal, insurance intermediaries or insurance companies, and other specialists or providers of services to us or our corporate group.
• We transfer personal data to DAS who provide the benefits and services described in Sections 10 and 11 of the policy wording.  DAS use the information for the purpose of administering and underwriting the benefits and services they provide and, if required, for the purpose of dealing with claims, giving advice and assistance, and to update their records.  DAS may need to disclose information outside DAS corporate group for the same purposes.  DAS may send information to lawyers and other experts, to a court or tribunal, insurance intermediaries or insurance companies, and other specialists or providers of services to the DAS corporate group.
• To ensure that content from our website is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer.
• To notify you about changes to our service.

We may share your information with other members of our group to help us:

• To assess insurance risks.
• To recover debt.
• To comply with our legal obligations in respect of the prevention and detection of crime.

In the event that we undergo reorganisation or that we are sold to a third party, any personal information we hold about you may be transferred to that reorganised entity or third party, provided that its usage of the information remains in accordance with this Conditions of Use and Privacy Statement.

Transfers of your data outside the European Economic Area ("EEA") - We may need to transfer your data outside of the EEA for the purposes of providing services to you including storage, processing and researching by (a) third party suppliers, (b) our staff (for the purposes of the fulfilment of your request for a quotation, the processing of your payment details and the provision of support services), and (c) other members of our corporate group (for the purposes of group administration, research, statistical analysis), and you consent to such use.

Security: The Internet is not a secure medium and we do not offer any warranties or assurances in this respect.  Similarly, whilst we may communicate with you via e-mail or via our website itself, we cannot accept any liability for the security or transmission of such e-mail or Internet-based communications: any transmission is at your own risk.
