When should we take out wedding insurance?
As soon as a financial commitment towards your wedding has been made. However, our maximum policy period is 18 months and we do not provide coverage less than 14 days before the date of your wedding.

My wedding ceremony and reception are on different dates. Would covermyday wedding insurance provide cover for both?
Yes, both events are covered under one policy, providing they are within the UK and within a 7 day period.

Will my honeymoon also be covered under the wedding insurance policy?
If you have chosen to include the optional honeymoon cancellation coverage and you have a pre-booked honeymoon that is not taken as a direct result of a covered claim for your wedding being cancelled, we will pay in accordance with the terms of conditions of the policy, up to the amount shown under your chosen tier. Claims should be made within 90 days of the wedding date and you should not be able to recover from any other insurance policy. This optional coverage does not replace a normal travel insurance policy.

Who can buy wedding insurance?
Wedding Insurance can be purchased by the Bride, Groom, either civil partner, either set of parents or guardians.

Will the couple be covered if one or both of them decides not to get married?
We do not provide coverage in the event that either the bride or groom or civil partners change their mind and do not wish to proceed with the wedding.

If I find that I'm becoming stressed by the wedding planning, is there anything you can do for me?

What happens if my wedding is cancelled?
If you have to cancel your wedding, we will in accordance with the policy terms and conditions pay up to the limit shown in your chosen tier, expenses you are unable to recover.

Is the wedding dress covered?
Yes, if your dress gets lost, stolen or damaged and it is within the period of insurance we will pay up to the limit shown within your chosen tier of cover, for a replacement dress or dress hire charges.

What happens if the wedding rings or presents are lost or damaged?
In accordance with the policy terms and conditions ,we will pay up to the limit specified in your chosen tier of cover, for the loss or damage to the wedding rings and wedding presents, during a period of 7 days prior to the wedding and 24 hours following the reception. We also cover wedding cakes and flowers in the same way.

Are vouchers included in the wedding presents cover?
Yes, we cover any present where a purchase can be verified, this includes vouchers.

If the marquee were to be accidentally damaged is it covered?
If you have chosen to include the optional marquee coverage, we will pay up to the limit shown within your chosen tier of coverage, for accidental loss or damage to the marquee caused by you or your guests.

If I need to make a claim what do I do?
You can report a claim by telephoning us on 0844 880 8062. This service is available between the hours of 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.

If any of my suppliers or service providers go bankrupt what happens?
We will pay for expenses you are not able to recover and additional costs, up to the limit shown within your chosen tier of coverage for the arrangement of equivalent services following the bankruptcy or liquidation of a supplier booked to supply a wedding service.

As the purchaser of this insurance do I have a duty to answer the questions within the application form on behalf of the wedding party?
Yes, where the application form asks questions about the wedding party, you must check the answers with them. If you are in any doubt whether a fact may be relevant please contact us on 0844 880 8062.

How will I receive my policy documents once I have purchased this insurance?
An email containing all of your policy documents will be sent to you automatically upon purchase. We do however, also suggest that you view your policy documents on the website once you have completed the payment process. Make a note of your policy number, print a copy and retain them for your records.

Can I update my coverage once I have paid for it?
Yes, by calling us on 0844 880 8062 and speaking to our customer service team you have the ability amend policy details and to upgrade the level of cover you require by purchasing a higher Tier. You can also choose to purchase the honeymoon cancellation or the marquee extension optional covers.

If I cancel my policy will I get my premium refunded?
If after insuring with us you subsequently change your mind, you have 14 days to email us to confirm you do not wish to continue. No refund will be given for any cancellation after 14 days. No refund will be given if you have made a claim under your policy.

If I need cancellation cover greater than £75,000 can I buy this from covermyday?
Yes, we can provide bespoke packages for weddings which require cover above our Tier 5 limit of £75,000. Please contact our customer service team on 0844 880 8062 and they will be happy to help you.
